Terms and Conditions
Wear Valley Pet Care
By booking any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Services Provided
We provide the following pet care services:

Dog Walking
-
Dog Day Care
-
Dog Boarding (Home Boarding)
-
Pop-in Visits (Dogs, Cats, Rabbits)
All services are subject to availability.
2. Registration and Booking
Before any service is provided:
-
A free meet-and-greet consultation will be required prior to the first booking.
-
A registration form must be completed giving full details of your pet, including medical history, behavioural issues and emergency contacts etc.
We reserve the right to refuse services at our discretion.
3. Vaccinations and Health Requirements
Owners confirm that:

Dogs are fully vaccinated in accordance with veterinary recommendations.
-
Dogs are up to date with flea, worming and tick treatments.
-
Dogs are in good health and free from contagious diseases before staying with us.
-
Any existing medical conditions, injuries or behavioural concerns have been disclosed.
We reserve the right to refuse entry, postpone or terminate services if a dog is believed to be unwell or poses a risk to other animals or people.
If a dog is found to have fleas/ticks or a contagious parasite during boarding and the emergency contact cannot be reached, the owner gives us consent to administer any necessary treatment for their dogs safety and the safety of other dogs in my care. Costs associated with any necessary treatment or cleaning will be charged to the owner where appropriate.
4. Neutering and Behaviour
Owners must disclose any history of:

Any kind of aggression
-
Biting
-
Excessive barking/howling
-
Destructive behaviour
-
Escaping or roaming
-
Slipping collars/harnesses
-
Resource guarding
-
Reactivity
-
Previous fights or attacks
-
Toilet training problems
-
Any other unsafe behaviour
We reserve the right to decline services for dogs exhibiting unsafe or aggressive behaviour.
For safety reasons, we may refuse home boarding or day care for females in season or dogs displaying behavioural issues.
5. Emergency Backup Contact
Every owner should have an appropriate backup person who can collect the dog in an emergency situation:

Becomes unsafe to manage due to aggressive or dangerous behaviour.

Becomes severely distressed and will not calm down.
-
Becomes unacceptably destructive.
6. Dog Walking Services
Off-Lead Walking
Dogs will only be walked off lead with the owner's written consent.
Whilst every reasonable precaution is taken, walking off lead carries inherent risks. The owner accepts these risks and releases the Company from liability for incidents arising from authorised off-lead exercise.
Group Walks
Dogs may be walked individually or in compatible groups at our discretion.
The Company reserves the right to alter walking arrangements to ensure the safety and welfare of all dogs.
7. Pet Pop In Services
During pet pop in visits, we will provide services agreed at booking, which may include:

Feeding
-
Refreshing water
-
Exercise
-
Cleaning feeding areas
-
Cleaning up waste
-
Cleaning out litter trays/hutches
-
Administering medication (where agreed)
-
Companionship and welfare checks
-
Picking up mail
-
Watering indoor plants
The Company shall not be liable for loss, injury, illness or death resulting from pre-existing health conditions or undisclosed behavioural issues.
8. Dog Day Care and Home Boarding
Owners acknowledge that:

Dogs attending day care or boarding may interact with other dogs.
-
Reasonable precautions are taken to minimise risks.
-
Minor injuries can occasionally occur during normal play, as interaction between dogs can never be 100% risk free.
We reserve the right to separate dogs where necessary for safety and welfare.
Owners must provide:
-
Sufficient food/treats for the duration of the stay (unless otherwise agreed).
-
State food allergies
-
Any required medication with clear instructions.
-
Emergency veterinary contact information.
Whilst every care will be taken, if owners bring toys or other personal belongings, we cannot guarantee that such items will not become dirty or damaged.
9. Trial Stays
For all new dogs requesting dog day care or home boarding services, a trial session is required before a booking is confirmed.
Trial stays enable us to assess the dog's suitability for our services and ensures the safety and welfare of all animals in our care.
A trial stay allows us to:

Assess a dog's temperament and behaviour.
-
Observe how they interact with people and other dogs.
-
Identify signs of stress, anxiety, aggression or resource guarding.
-
Confirm they can settle comfortably in their new environment.
-
Check that feeding, exercise and medication routines can be managed safely.
-
Reduce the risk of problems during longer bookings.
Day Care Trial
-
5 hours duration (half day).
-
Owner remains contactable throughout.
-
Dog is introduced gradually to the environment and any resident dogs.
-
Behaviour and welfare are monitored.
Overnight Boarding Trial
-
Involves a single overnight stay before accepting longer boarding bookings.
-
Sleeping habits, separation anxiety and ability to settle overnight will be monitored.
The Company reserves the right to decline day care or boarding services if, following the trial stay, it is considered that a dog may present a risk to itself, other animals, people or property, or is unable to settle comfortably within the environment.
Trial stays are chargeable at the standard rate unless otherwise agreed.
10. Drop Off and Collection Times

Owners must stick to the agreed times as much as reasonably possible.

Owners must inform us of any lateness or any travel delays as soon as possible.
-
Additional charges may apply.
11. Veterinary Treatment
In the event of illness, injury or emergency:
-
We will make every reasonable effort to contact the owner.
-
If the owner cannot be contacted, we are authorised to seek veterinary treatment.
-
The owner is responsible for all veterinary fees and related costs.
The Company shall not be responsible for outcomes arising from veterinary treatment obtained in good faith unless it has been caused by proven negligence.
12. Medication
If your dog requires medication during their stay with us, clear instructions must be provided:

Reason for medication.
-
Dose and frequency if not stated clearly on the medication.
-
Any known adverse reactions or any other important information.
13. Access to Customers Property
Where keys are provided:
-
Keys will be kept securely either in a coded lock box at the customers property or with the Company.
-
Keys will only be used for the purpose of providing booked services.
-
The Company accepts no liability for burglary or damage where third parties have access to the property.
-
Customers must ensure that all locks, gates and access arrangements are in good working order.
14. Access to Company Property
-
Please ensure all gates are securely closed when entering or leaving company property.
-
Never open an external gate if a dog, other than your own, is present.
15. Cancellations
Dog Walking, Pop In’s and Day Care
-
More than 48 hours’ notice: no charge.
-
Less than 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the booking fee retained.
-
Less than 24 hours’ notice: no refund.
Dog Boarding
-
More than 14 days’ notice: full refund, excluding the non-refundable deposit
-
7–14 days' notice: non-refundable deposit and 50% of booking fee retained.
-
Less than 7 days' notice: no refund.
We reserve the right to waive cancellation fees at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.
16. Payments
-
Deposits and payments are due in advance, unless otherwise agreed.
-
Late payments may result in suspension of the service.
17. Photographs and Social Media
We may take photographs of pets in our care. These photographs may be used on our website, social media platforms and promotional materials unless the owner requests otherwise in writing.
18. Liability
Whilst every care is taken to safeguard your pet and property:
-
The Company shall not be liable for injury, illness, loss, death, theft, disappearance or damage except where caused by proven negligence.

The owner remains responsible for any damage or injury caused by their pet to people, animals or my property. Normal wear and tear is acceptable however, if the owners dog causes excessive damage e.g. flooring being damaged, furniture, doors, frames, walls being damaged etc the owner will be charged for repair or replacement items.

The owner agrees to indemnify the Company against any claims arising from their pet's actions.
19. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

Severe weather
-
Flooding
-
Fire
-
Road closures
-
Government restrictions
-
Illness or emergencies
Alternative arrangements will be made where reasonably possible.
20. Data Protection
We collect and store personal information only for the purpose of providing pet care services.
Data will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal information will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or necessary for veterinary treatment.
21. Complaints
Any complaints should be submitted in writing within 14 days of the incident.
We will investigate all complaints fairly and aim to respond within 14 days.
